Uninstalling a Gateway
Where it is necessary to remove, or reinstall a gateway, follow this procedure to correctly and cleanly remove the gateway from the host PC, Server or VM:
Select Gateway to Uninstall
- Figure out the Gateway you need to uninstall by going to the ‘Gateways’ tab on the ‘Administration’ page in Cimar.
Stop Gateway Service
- On the host PC, make sure the following 3 services are stopped (right click on Task Bar, select Task Manager and then choose services)
Uninstall Service

On the Host PC/VM go to C:\Program Files\Cimar

Go into the Gateway Folder
- Double click unins000.exe
- For any messages asking you to make sure you are ok uninstalling all the components – Click Yes
- Delete Gateway Folder
- Uninstall Watchdog
- In the Cimar folder double click unins000.exe
- For any messages asking you to make sure you are ok uninstalling all the components – Click Yes
- Delete entire Cimar folder
- Go to C:\Program Files
- Delete the Cimar folder
- Delete the DicomGrid folder
This process will completely remove the gateway installation and leave no residual elements of the installation or its services.
