Creating Destinations
What are destinations:
Destinations are DICOM devices that can request or receive studies from a CIMAR Gateway located on the same local area network as the DICOM device. Destinations allow the customisations of study or HL7 message routing and can be managed and configured directly from the CIMAR platform.
Depending on the type of destinations, different objectives can be achieved:
- Routing to external and local PACS or other medical systems
- Routing to additional Cimar accounts
- Routing to multiple locations and other destinations from the same source.
Creating Destinations:
The gateway configuration must already be completed before these steps are taken (see related articles).
- Navigate to Administration -> Destinations as shown in the picture above and click the "New Destination" button.
- Input a name for your destination. It is recommended to use something readable and relevant to where the data is going.
- Select the type of destination configuration. See below for more detailed explanation.
- Select which gateway is to be used for routing the studies to this destination.
- Input your gateway settings and sort order if required.
- Select any relevant checkboxes for further functionality. See below for more detailed explanation.
- Press the save button to save all your configurations.
Destination Types:
Depending on your objective, multiple destination types exist. There are 3 to choose from and each requires a slightly different configuration.
Classic
This type will take raw connection data to your PACS or data store of choice.
Input the connection details for your destination:
- Application entity title for your destination
- The IP address of the location of your destination.
- The port number of the location of your destination.
Linked
This type allows connections between accounts. Select the destination on another Cimar account to configure this type:
Distributing
This type allows a single destination to route studies to multiple destinations. Essentially creating a list of destinations for one routing rule. For this type the gateway must be virtual.
Additional Functionality Checkboxes:
Each destination type has the ability to toggle additional functionality into your destination see below, toggle each of them on or off as needed:
Supports query retrieve via HL7
Supports manual query retrieve
Supports modality worklist search
Exclude from DICOM send list
Support pushing HL7 messages
