What is and How to Access the Audit Trail

Every event and action that affects a study in Cimar will be logged by the system. These logs can be accessed and audited by clicking the Audit Trail button in the work list.

An audit trail will show many types of events, the time they occurred and who caused them. The most recent event is shown at the top. The bottom of the audit trail provides the storage information about the study you are viewing. Please provide this to Cimar when making any technical support queries about a particular study

Why Access the Audit Trail

GDPR

In the event a GDPR request is made by a patient the audit trail can be used to explain when and who may have viewed, altered or touched their study. The audit trail for a study can be exported as a CSV by clicking the Export to CSV button.

Troubleshooting

In the event something doesn’t function as expected the audit trail can be very useful to diagnose what happened (or didn’t happen to a study).

Auditing

As the name suggest the audit trail can be used to audit studies and ensure particular actions are happening in a timely manner by the right people or systems.
